Frequently Asked Questions

When do practices begin?

The first practice for all registered players will typically be the first week after the kickoff.  You will be contacted prior to the kickoff with your team assignment, regular practice location and schedule.  You will also be able to find the information on our web site. During the season, teams will practice one evening a week and games will be played on Saturday.  You will be contacted by your assigned coach regarding any changes that may occur.

Where are practices held?

For practices, players will have the opportunity to use the facilities of Lancaster Mennonite School’s three elementary campuses:

  • Kraybill Campus, near Mount Joy in northwest Lancaster County
  • Locust Grove Campus, east of Lancaster near the Lancaster Campus
  • New Danville Campus, south of Lancaster

You will be assigned to a team and practice location based on the practice site nearest your home address.  Special requests will be considered. 

When do games begin?

Games will begin the first Saturday of September, depending on when Labor Day and the kickoff fall.  Your coach will provide a practice and game schedule for you at the kickoff.  There will be no games on Labor Day weekend. 

Where are games held?

Games will be played at the Lancaster Campus, which offers MSO participants the opportunity to use first-class high school facilities.

When does the season end?

The season will last 6-8 weeks from the start date. 

How much does it cost?

The registration fee is just $30 per player; additional players in a family are $25 each, up to a maximum of $80 per family.  A team shirt is provided in the price.

What is included in the Jr. Youth Package?

A hockey stick in the size you order (28, 30, 32 or 34”), shin guards, mouthpiece and hockey ball.
